The useless things in the world have unspeakable beauty.
Such as Huajian.
Hanging around with friends in the small street below Kiyomizu Temple in Kyoto. See a small shop selling letterhead, narrow rice paper, the size of a palm. There are tiny cherry blossom petals on the pure white rice paper, in twos and threes, a few pieces, calm as a dream. On the other pieces of rice paper, some red maple was dyed, and they fell down in the wind, making people feel that autumn is coming. There is a large area of blank space on the flower note, and the blank space is just right for writing. The flower note is simple and poetic. If you write a letter to a friend from afar, you can write a letter in small red letters, and you will find endless feelings and thoughts, falling on a beautiful piece of paper, which is very ancient.
The shop owner is wearing a white shirt and is drawing on rice paper with a pen. He has slightly curly hair and white star hair on the temples.
He saw me holding the letterhead and looked and looked again, and smiled at me. This kind of flower paper, originally called Huaijing paper, was a note used by ancient literati to communicate with friends.
Huai handle paper reminds me of “Xue Tao Jian” in Tang Dynasty. The book records that there is a well named Xue Tao Well in Chengdu. The water from the well was used to make Xue Tao’s paper. Xue Tao, a talented woman in the Tang Dynasty, used hibiscus flowers as raw materials, and made paper with well water. The surface of the paper was like hibiscus. The paper was soft and smooth, with hidden petals in it, and it was colorful. It was a good product among rice paper. For a time Xue Tao paper was expensive, and literati and writers at the time rushed to buy it.
The autumn mood is getting stronger, and the night rain knocks on the window. This kind of night is suitable for reading ancient handwritten notes.
Wang Xizhi’s “Hand-holding Post” wrote: “You can’t hold your hand, how deep is this hate. I love each one at one step, count the benefits, and feel stunned.” The calligrapher said in the hand post, I miss you very much. treasure.
“First month post”: “Although it is far from comfort. I have asked, is it good or not? My sufferings are different from the inferior. The Fang is involved in the Tao, and I am sad. I have no strength. Xi’s return.”
It means: We are so far apart and feel comforted when we receive the letter. You care about me too much, how are you? I have too much trouble, it’s really bad. During the trip, sad and exhausted. If you don’t write it anymore, Xi Zhi reports it.
The two manuscripts are both letterheads written by Wang Xizhi to friends. They are simple and carefree, with a strong feeling and a long aftertaste. How are you saying “Qing Jia?” The deep affection penetrated the millennium for a time.
It is a pity that people nowadays can no longer write beautiful, deep and meaningful, short and elegant notes.
Fallen leaves and residual lotus are all useless things in the world.
A student went to visit Mr. Zhu Guangqian. The autumn was deep and there was a thick layer of fallen leaves in the courtyard. The student found a small broom to clean the fallen leaves for the teacher. Mr. Zhu stopped him and said: “I waited a long time to save such thick fallen leaves. Reading in the study at night, I could hear the rain falling and the wind rolling up. This memory is more vivid and profound than reading many autumn poems. “What a fun. This is the same as that in “A Dream of Red Mansions” Daiyu liked Li Yishan’s poem “Leave the remnant lotus to listen to the rain”, and was reluctant to pull out the dry lotus leaves, both of which have a bleak beauty. It is rare in life to listen to the sound of autumn, leaving residual lotus and fallen leaves, but to listen to the sound of autumn wind and rain.
When I went to the former residence of Qi Baishi in Beijing, I saw an old man Baishi’s painting “The Sound of Frogs Are Out of the Mountain Spring”. This turned out to be a difficult problem for him by Mr. Lao She, asking him to paint with the poet Zha Shenxing’s verse. In the painting, a clear stream is gurgling from the mountain, and a group of tadpoles of different sizes swim in the stream. I asked my son if the old man Baishi painted well? He said that it is not only well painted, but also interesting. So good? He said, fortunately, there are paintings outside the paintings, sound outside the paintings, and the interest outside the paintings. It seems that he understands the painting.
Listen carefully to Mr. Ye Jiaying’s ancient poems. A few years ago, I had been obsessed with her series of “Said Poems in Jialing”. The 90-year-old Mr. Ye stood on the stage and talked about ancient poems. Some students asked her, your poems are very good, but how can they help us in real life? What? Mr. Ye said: “You have listened to my class. Of course, you can’t use it to evaluate professional titles, and you will not be able to process capital. But grief is more than heart death, and death is second. Classical poetry accumulates all the hearts and minds of ancient great poets. Wisdom, character, arms and cultivation. Reading classical poetry can make your soul immortal.” Classical poetry seems useless, but it makes our soul immortal.
Since ancient times, the things that literati liked to do were mostly useless, such as watching cherry blossoms, listening to the rain, writing letters, viewing posts, enjoying paintings, reciting poems, reading, and tasting tea. These useless things in the world can make people live a good life.
Useless things are similar to literature, art, music, and love. In the impetuous world, they are like moonlight in the quiet night, soothing every cold heart. Those useless beauty, immersed in the depths of the soul, cannot be said.
